It’s the time of year where I have loads of birthday cards to make all in one go. This evening I have made three, though the third is a 1st birthday card for my godson. (I’m not posting a picture as I’m not 100% sure it’s finished, it may even be scrapped!)
Ages ago I ordered some pretty papers and I’ve finally been able to use them for something. The first card is a 30th birthday one and I’ve used the negative effect using cricut. I quite like the colours here, the only thing I’d change is having more of a contrast between the patterned paper and the card I cut the negative out of to make it stand out more.
The other card I made is a bit bolder but I love the colours, so spring like and fresh. I felt it needed more definition so added pen ‘stitches’. It’s a bit of an old effect now but it really does suit certain cards so I’m going to keep doing it even if it’s not trendy.
I’m pleased with 2 out of 3 of tonight’s cards. If only my children would go to sleep when they are put to bed I’d have more time for this sort of thing!
