June is a busy month for cards for me with birthdays, anniversaries and of course Father’s Day. I thought I’d better get started and when I saw the sketch on this challenge I immediately thought of anniversary cards. I try to use the wedding colours chosen by the couple for anniversary cards as much as possible, although it depends what materials I have in as to whether or not I can.
I wanted to keep it really simple so I used a swirls embossing folder to add texture to the coloured card. I then stamped the heart using my Versamark pad and luckily had an embossing powder which went well with the card. I did the same with the sentiment, mounting it with a very narrow border which took some careful cutting!
A card of mine wouldn’t be complete without a tiny bit of sparkle so I added a tiny gemstone to replace the ‘i’ in ‘anniversary’. I like the simplicity of this design so I think I might make a few using different colours.
I had forgotten how much fun it is to use stamps with embossing powders!
