I had great fun making this card, which I’m only posting as my father in law definitely doesn’t read this blog! Dave requested a fishing themed card for his dad as it’s something they have enjoyed together and plan to do more of this summer.
I stamped the image using brown ink as I think it gives a nicer finish and then shaded it using chalks applied with a cotton wool bud. I love the soft effect of chalks, not to mention the fact they are easy to use if you aren’t any good with alcohol markers. The edges were chalked too for definition and I chose a paper from the Docrafts Mr Mister range to back it with. The mini scrabble tiles were cut from another backing paper from the same range and attached using foam pads. I normally like to use more layers but the stamped image was so large that I wouldn’t have fitted much more on to the base card. I also didn’t add any embellishments, although I may give in and stick a button on before it is given away. It really didn’t take long to make, which is a bonus when you have a long list of cards needed for the next few weeks!
Love it! The bear image is great and the chalks work so well!
