We are in the midst of wedding Season, which means only one thing-wedding cards. I find these kind of cards easy to find a starting point for as I match it to the happy couple’s wedding colours and/or theme. It’s the actual design part which seems to stump me.
For this card I decided to use embossed and inked hearts, cut using the Cricut and then run through an inked embossing folder (I wrecked the ink pad so won’t be able to make any more like this, at least not in silver!) I then die cut nesting mats using purple and white and also die cut a bow using the die that was free with Papercraft Inspirations a couple of issues ago. It was a bit fiddly but I thought it was quite cute when finished. The hearts were attached, one with a foam pad to raise it slightly and I stamped a greeting using Versamark ink. I heat embossed using silver powder and was really pleased with how it turned out, given that stamping directly onto the base card is a bit like playing roulette. I thought it needed some sparkle but was afraid of it looking overdone so I just added one single diamanté heart to the ‘i’.
The wedding was yesterday so I’m finally able to post this. I also made one similar for another wedding, in navy rather than purple. It’s a bit simpler than my usual wedding card style but it’s a fairly quickly make.
What’s your favourite wedding card style? Have you made any that have gone down really well?
