Welcome to another WIP Wednesday, today’s is a bit special to me as it’s a birthday edition!
News on the WIP front is a bit limited, only 2 more rows added to the cosy stripe blanket. That is mainly because I finished the mermaid blanket and the baskets (including typing the pattern!)
Mr C did extremely well on the birthday present front (with a little guidance!) and bought me the knitpro interchangeable needle set.
This obviously means a knitting project is in the pipeline. (By that I mean once Mr C is awake and ready for work I’m going to raid the yarn stash in my wardrobe and cast on straight away!) I can’t wait to try them out.
My wonderful friends also got me a Wool Warehouse voucher which I am very eager to spend! I will look for a project then buy the yarn specifically for making it so I don’t waste it. I’m thinking at least one pair of socks and then some lovely yarn to make my daughter a cardigan.
What are you working on this week? What’s the best crafty gift you’ve ever been given?
Have a lovely week, and as always tag me here or on Instagram so I can take a peek at what you’re working on!
Happy Birthday!

A lovely post – to answer your question – the best crafty present I was ever given would be a crocheted blanket I was given by a family friend as a newborn baby and now my children have it π

That’s lovely, gifts that can be passed down are very precious. I have my mum and her twin sister’s christening blanket and used it at both of my children’s christenings too. I daren’t use it for anything else in case it gets ruined!

I know that feeling … I recently found out that an old soft toy horse that I was given as a child (from my grandparents’ visit to Austria in the 80s) – was a collectors item. I had given it to my own children … although perhaps there is nothing sadder than an unplayed with teddy bear π

Happy Birthday. Love the presents you’re very lucky. Gorgeous colours on the cosy stripe blanket

Thank you, I am lucky. The colours work surprisingly well on the cosy stripe, I think it’s supposed to use more than 4 but that’s what I had lol.

Happy birthday to you! What a lovely gift from Mr. C and your friends! My hubby is good like that too π My birthday is next Tuesday and I’ve asked for a techie gift since I’m set for now on gift cards for yarn shops…we’ll see if the wish comes true π

My grandma gave me my first set of crochet hooks when I was 16. I still have the set with the tag she wrote on. I have a lot of other hooks and sets, but that one is special to me.

I bet they are treasures, I have my great granny’s knitting needles (though I’m not sure which ones they are, I just know they’re in the set my mum gave me!)

Belated happy birthday, well done on what you have achieved over the last few weeks β I havent been around much with so much going on in my life but I have been reading. Lovely presrent from hubby, I have a friend who has some of those and she let me use some when I was there, they are great.
Now that our celebrations are over and everything blogged , I have got back to some card making and I have started on a scrapbook album of the celebrations which will be blogged eventually.
