These weeks are just flying by at the minute with work on the allotment, plus decorating. I’ve still squeezed in a little bit of craft time though!
The lace cardigan has both fronts and most of the back completed. I’m now beginning to think about the blocking process, but the yarn is 50% wool and 50% acrylic so I’m not sure which method would be best (I’d like to try steam blocking but I’ve no idea if it’s right for this yarn!) If you’ve ever had any luck blocking a similar mix please share how you did it. I can’t wait to see how it looks once it’s been processed fully.
I’ve also worked another four stripes (eight rows) of the cosy stripe blanket. It’s at that funny stage where it doesn’t seem to get any longer so the photo doesn’t look much different to last week!
Both projects are coming with me on Friday when I take Mr C to the hospital so I think I’ll get a fair amount done then.
What are you working on? Feel free to share a link to your blog or Instagram.
You can pretty much use heat etc with most yarns but you need to do it carefully. Brown paper for baking etc over the garment and steam over with an iron/steamer this is what my nana did and a few other people i know do it this way. But with the weather being nice i would probably pin it and just air block it outside? Hope you figure it out π

Thank you, good tips. I will admit to feeling a little nervous about blocking this lol, think I will take the plunge at the weekend! π

I hope that it’s nothing too serious for Mr C. The cardigan is looking great so far π this lacy pattern is beautiful!

Thank you, nothing major thankfully but I will make the most of a couple of uninterrupted hours of crochet and knitting. π

Thank you, I’m hoping it’s not to hot for knitting, the blanket may have to go in temporary time out!

When I see lovely work like this it makes me want to learn to knit! Then I remember the last time I tried to learn to knit and decide that it is best if I just enjoy seeing what other talented knitters make. π

Steam blocking will be fine- as ever be careful to not kill it, but given that it’s 50% wool, it’ll be harder to do so than if it was just acrylic! Well doen with getting on so well with it!

Thank you, I’ve done the back now but think I’ll save blocking until I’ve done the sleeves too. I’ve never tried steam blocking so it’ll be an adventure!
