WIP Wednesday-31st May

The last May WIP Wednesday, oh my goodness! This week has been really hot so not the right weather for working on large projects. However, it has meant I could take my photographs outdoors!

On the cooler days I have managed to add another 7 stripes to the cosy stripe blanket. I’ve also reached the point where I was able to measure it, and do some calculations to work out how much further I’ve got to go before it’s finished. (36 more stripes, so at my current rate my 5 year old might get it for his 10th birthday!)

I’ve also turned my thoughts towards projects to enter into our village show, which is at the end of July. I’m starting off with a baby sized pair of crocodile booties. Whether I enter them into the show or not, I think I may know someone willing to give them a new home!

One baby boot sole

The lace cardigan has been finished and blocked, and I’ve chosen a new cardigan pattern but not bought it yet. I cant wait to cast it on, but I want to finish off all of my show projects first.

What are you working on this week? If you’re in the UK, what kind of projects do you like to work on when it’s warm like it has been recently? Please feel free to share links to your blog or Instagram.

  2. Don’t even get me started on this weather we’ve had. It’s making me so grumpy :@! Good job though with that cardigan :O I like to make bitty bobby kind of things, i’ve been playing with crochet thread this week so it’s been doable in the heat lol!

  3. I love the colors of the blanket! I like working on the corner to corner stuff but I’m making a graphgan for my son currently in the block stitch to hopefully make it a little quicker. Thanks for sharing!

  4. It hasn’t gotten hot here yet in the northeast of the US. Nice and warm but not uncomfortable. I have some small projects lined up and if it gets too hot I can practice my tatting or explore some macrame projects! That blanket is coming along very nicely – it will be a lovely 10th birthday present LOL!!!! πŸ˜€

  5. It’s getting cold in Australia so I really feel like working on a knitted jumper but I haven’t started yet. So in the mean time I’m making a pair of wrist warmers!

  6. Thank you for linking up with Wool on Sundays with your lovely blanket and boot start. I’ve only been crocheting the granny stripe blanket in the car (with air conditioning!) or in the evenings when it cools down. It’s definitely been to hot for yarnwork during the days. At the moment we’re having only our second rain in about a month and it’s quite a bit colder, which I’m glad of for the garden, but hopefully we’ll have more Summer soon πŸ™‚
