WIP Wednesday-23rd August

This week continues the footwear theme! I’m not sure if everyone is starting to feel a bit autumnal but requests for socks and slippers are coming my way. I’ve been a bit busy making chutney and harvesting this week, but still managed to squeeze in some craft.
I’ve finished Sock 1 and cast on Sock 2 of Mr C’s welly socks straight away. Sock 1 was a good fit on him so I’ve kept my pattern adaptations and got up to the rib part already. I’m hoping for FO Friday with these this week!

I’ve also started on some more crocodile stitch boots, this time in child size. I’ve been asked to make 2 pairs so thought I’d do the gauge swatch and start on the soles. I’m strangely happy that my 4mm Clover hook was the right one for the gauge as I haven’t used it in ages!

I also got a yarn delivery for another request and for a cushion to coordinate with our bedroom now it’s completely finished. I’m gradually working my way through projects, though I’m adding more to the list than I’m completing!

What are you working on this week? How’s it going? And do you have an unrealistically long list of projects to begin? Please share, I’m keeping an eye out on Instagram for projects too.

      1. Rapunzel. It’s the recipient’s favourite. It’s a challenge, so far I’ve done one granny square, and a Pegasus. It like a is relatively easy, just big, but it’s with two strands of yarn held together for snugglyness which is new to me. Hopefully because it’s such a big hook (11.5) it’ll work up quickly

  1. Fabulous socks. I finished my latest shirt quilt (hope to get a post up on my blog today or tomorrow) and have been working on another dog coat for the lost dogs home. Have a request for some Father’s day/Male cards so must get on with those in the next few days.

  2. Sock knitting here too. It’s my first sock after years of failed attempts. I’ve found a pattern that I’m getting along with and have turned the heel! I can crochet in my sleep and could have a pair of crochet socks in a day… but they’re not the same! Lovely socks MrsC and I agree there’s a distinct change in the air and the nights are drawing in. Autumn is-a-coming.

I’m also doing socks, my first attempt at a pair of Frankensocks using oddments of left over yarn, post to follow when I’ve finished them … depending on how busy I get the post could be as early as 2020 LOL
