WIP Wednesday-27th September

Even though it’s still September, it’s getting festive here, and this week’s crafts have mainly revolved around Christmas (or sparkles!)

I’m in the middle of completing orders for snowmen baubles, there are only a couple more to make now. They do look like a jolly little crew; it’ll almost be sad to separate them when they go off in pairs to their new homes. The bonus of making so many is that I have memorised the patterns!

I’ve also had orders for slippers-5 pairs of them! I’ve completed one pair, and have the yarn (and sparkly buttons) for the next pair. I need to put in a Wool Warehouse order for the yarn for the next three pairs, but I have enough to keep me busy for a while. I’ve shut my business order books temporarily so that I can complete these orders and make stock for a craft fair. (Not to mention the fact that I’m currently working a lot so crochet is mainly reserved for evenings now.)

My wrist is better after a bit of a rest so now I can at least crochet for a while. Injuring myself has made me more mindful of the need to take rest breaks and do stretching exercises to avoid doing any more damage. I also managed to make an existing shoulder injury worse by sitting in the same position for too long. Fortunately that has eased too, I just need to remember to go steady!

What have you been working on this week? Anything exciting? How are your festive makes coming on?

  1. Oh…That steady bell. Don’t we all need to hear that bell and pace our crafting.?
Your snow men heads are just too cute. This is one of those crafty things I never have learned. I spy those little Ninga’s too. Cut,cute, cute.
Me? I’m trying to get things ready for a friend to put my cards in her shop. Steady is the word.

  2. I’ve been spinning a lot plus a little bit of crochet; currently making a cushion cover using Lucy’s, of Attic 24, neat wave pattern.
You sound very busy. The baubles are very cute. I love their sweet little faces πŸ™‚

      1. Pastels in blues, aqua, pink and lavender with a little bit of green. Someone gave me a large bag of tapestry wool which I’m using. It’s working well. I’ll try and remember to post a picture when it’s done πŸ™‚

      1. I divided and weighed the remaining grey carefully and I have enough for 2 stripes and the cuff on each sleeve. I have also bought a skein of a lighter grey sock yarn, which I will try adding in as stripes and see how it looks.

  3. They are lovely, and they look so happy together! But at least they’ll make other people happy when they’re sent off to new homes πŸ™‚
I never got round to making any decorations this month, I was too busy with presents. Bulbasaur is being difficult so he’s not finished yet, but the other two are done and dusted and making me feel quite proud!
