Thank goodness my busy week is over-I survived working an extra day and the disco/fundraiser was a huge success. Things are back to normal this week (apart from an incoming tide of birthday party invites for both children!) and so I’m hoping to get more crafting done. I did manage a few craft sessions this week in between jobs, so it wasn’t too bad.
First of all I’ll talk about the Attic 24 Cosy Stripe blanket. As it grows, it gets heavier, and so it puts a strain on my wrist. Because I can’t work on it for extended periods, I’ve decided to crochet a stripe or two a night before working in other things. Each stripe adds an inch to the length of the blanket (and 15g) so it grows pretty quickly. It’s meant to be a stash buster so I will keep working on it until it is either the length of a single bed or I run out of yarn. I’ve added a stitch marker to show where I started from when I brought it out of hibernation so that I can see I’ve made progress.
I’m also working on my Hermione’s Everyday socks, and this photo is actually the start of sock 2. (Thank you to the weather for ensuring football was cancelled on Saturday morning, giving me extra craft time!) Fingers crossed sock 2 will work up more quickly as it won’t be in the naughty corner for a fortnight whilst I decide whether I like the pattern or not.
I’ve also been working away on some cards, which I’ll share when I’ve completed them all.
What are you working on at the moment? Are you beginning to work on more spring projects or has the weather this week (for the UK folks!) left you still feeling wintery? Let me know!
I’ve been thinking about you today and your WIP. Mine got side tracked when my son came to cut trees. Your blanket is looking good. Love the colors.

I love your idea of the stitch marker to show your progress! On those big projects it can often feel like youβre getting nowhere!

Thank you, that’s exactly why I did it. I’m in the middle of the project, that horrible time when it doesn’t seem to grow ever!

Oh yes I know the feeling!

Great progress – considering the hoops you’ve had to navigate. I’m still loving that throw, and really love the colours of the yarn for the socks. Somehow it really does say ‘Hermione’! Perfect!

Thank you, they are very smart. I can’t wait to wear them under my boots at work so I can pretend to do magic all day π x x

I remember the colors from your afghan that you made for the caravan. I still love them! Yay on getting to the second sock!

I am waiting for a day at home to get going on sewing the 5 foot across bean bag chair I promised my second son.

They look great! I am working on writing the pattern down of the huge rug that I shared a week ago in my blog. The first half in Estonian is ready but I am wondering how to get it to English as smoothly as possible. I should probably just Google the right terms in English and just translate.

Good luck with it, I’ve seen some of the pattern and it looks amazing!

Ooh the stitch marker is a good idea! Feeling like you’re actually getting somewhere always helps, I find.
I’ve been thinking about some warmer weather crochet, but not managed to convince myself to get started considering there’s still snow on the ground in some places!

Thank you, I think the sunshine today has definitely cemented my spring craft feeling! Hopefully the snow near you has now gone too.

It has, but apparently there will be a bit more later this week! There should be laws against snow in spring :p

Definitely! Hoping the snow this time is very short lived.

Nice progress. Good idea to sometimes switch between projects sometimes. Stash busting – wow – need a project too!

I’m still feeling wintery and the eagerness to knit winter stuff is the only thing that makes me dread the end of winter. Just a little bit because beside that I am really waiting for spring π

I love the stitch marker idea. I think I have too many projects on the go right now. Sometimes I waste valuable crafting time just trying to decide which one I want to work on.

I feel you on the hands thing. I am up against the clock and determined to use up my stash, even if my hands give out and I have to learn to crochet/knit with my feet!
