May is here, which means I’ll soon be spending more time at the allotment and less time crafting. However, this week I’ve still found plenty of time for both of my projects.
The Coastal Crochet CAL is coming along nicely-I’ve almost completed week 8. At the rate I’m going, I should be caught up in a few weeks. At the moment this is my main project, but once I’m up to date with it I will keep it going as a background project and just do each week as it is published. I’ve introduced a few more colours this week, which I needed to do in order to ‘bust my stash’ as the project is intended to. I’ve tried to tie them in, introducing them gradually and alongside colours they go with as well as possible. I’ve seen some beautiful examples on Instagram using lots of colours and I’m hoping mine will be just as lovely.
I’ve also started on another pair of socks as my portable project. I’m using a beautiful yarn from the West Yorkshire Spinners Florist collection, and the Easy Lace Socks pattern by Winwick Mum. The yarn is just variegated enough to not be boring, but still allows the lace to show up. I only started it on Saturday but it’s really addictive and I’ve just been picking it up and working on it when I have a couple of minutes. I quite fancied some lacy socks and this pattern is simple enough to be able to pick it up and put it down, with the lace being worked over a 6 stitch/4 row repeat so it’s easy to memorise.
That’s it for now, but I am pleased with progress this week. What have you been working on?
You will be the belle of the ball in your lovely lacy socks..

I love your scrappy blanket- and I definitely think that yours will look as good as the others. It’s jsut harder for you to see at the moment (I had the same issues with my first scrappy hexagon blanket, but when it was finished I was able to step back and see it in all it’s eyepopping technicolour glory)

I’m loving the colours on your seaside stash buster. I finally caught up with mine at the weekend but haven’t had a chance to blog about it yet. I’m glad you’re enjoying it… I’m finding it a really fun project

You know Iโm all about color – so the CAL really speaks to me ๐
The lacy socks are wonderful! The yarn (and lacy stitch) looks so soft and almost feathery ๐๐๐ท

Thank you, it is a lovely textured yarn, not too smooth or too furry!

Wow! Those socks are looking so beautiful! Love the yarn and the pattern is so sweet! Your blanket is coming along beautifully, too. Such lovely colors. Since my knee is still injured, I have had lots of time to stitch and have gotten caught up on my cross stitched Mystery Sampler. Working on the May section now. Have a wonderful, crafty weekend ๐

Thank you, when I bought the yarn I knew it needed a lacy pattern to match it.
