It’s finally the school holidays! I’m not sure whether that actually means more craft time or not, but at least I can relax a bit with the kids and maybe do some craft with them.
I’ve kept fairly up to date with the Coastal Crochet CAL, with only a couple of rows left to do for this week. It’s increasingly hard to work on a project this size in the heat, although it does cool down a bit in the evenings.
The lace sock is coming on well, I’m just working the decreases now for the heel. It’s my preferred project in the daytime if I get a few minutes.
I’ve also started doing some bits and pieces for a local charity which collects knitted and crochet baby items for local hospitals. I’ve only made 2 premature sized baby hats-I’m planning on doing some newborn ones soon, once I’ve found a nice pattern. I’ll post more about the charity soon as I think it’s a really good cause.
I’m still on the look out for another project for me, but I’ll keep working on these for now.
I can now also share my ‘top secret’ project, which I was asked to make as a retirement gift for a local pre-school manager who had worked there for 29 years! It was a really special thing to make, testing my skills in a lot of areas. My inner perfectionist was also put to the test as I had my first go at cutting and weeding vinyl on my Silhouette Cameo 3. It went down very well, and I’ve learned more about my cutting machine.
How’s your crafting going? Any new or exciting projects in the pipeline? If you know of a nice pattern for a crochet new born hat please share a link as I’m struggling to find one. Thank you!
