We are in week 2 of the Easter holidays, so we’ve been ever so busy going places. On the days Mr C has been off, we have ventured quite far from home which allowed me to do some car knitting/crochet between navigating duties. I sort of lost the love for knitting and crochet last week-I just didn’t know what to make, and having finished my main project I had only small projects on the go. A little break, followed by working on the smaller projects has helped me find my enthusiasm.
On Monday, I worked 9 more squares for my Battenberg blanket (pattern by Sandra of Cherry Heart blog and podcast fame). I used as much as I could of the colours I had, and now only have scraps of about 3 more to use. I have larger quantities of other colours, but I don’t want to use them for this right now. The squares I have made will be stored safely until I decide to make a small project-like a cushion cover-with them, or until I have other scraps to make squares to add to them. The greyish colour is duck egg blue, and the bright looking red is shrimp, which is not quite this intense in real life!
I have also worked 16 of the 26 rounds of the second repeat on the second Precious Metals sock (designed by Louise Tilbrook-I’m not sure if she has the pattern on Ravelry yet), and when I have done the next 10 I can start on the heels. I’m trying to work on them simultaneously so that I don’t get second sock syndrome! The rounds don’t take long if I just sit down and get on-who knew that actually focusing gets the job done?
I also finished the Flax sweater for my god daughter. I haven’t washed it yet, so I’m hoping that will sort out some of my uneven stitches-magic loop was not my friend, and you can still see where the sleeves were held on waste yarn. It is only acrylic so I don’t know if washing and gentle blocking will have any effect at all.
My final WIP is teaching my 5 year old daughter to knit-more on that in another post!
What are you working on this week? Where do you look when you aren’t sure what to make next?
Awww that jumper is so cute!! I definitely need to make a wee one for my friend’s baby. I’m still plugging away at my Flax Light and slightly regretting not going for the thicker version, which might have been finished by now. Last night for about 30 seconds I seriously considered just stopping and calling it a cropped jumper :p

Lol! It is lovely, glad I went for the aran one. Not sure I am patient enough to make one for anyone larger than age 2 though 😂

Duck egg is a bugger to photo, your squares look so cute and I want to touch them 😂😂 (it’s almost midnight I’m over tired) – I’m trying to get this bloody Aspen blanket done but I’ve not done much, it’s boring me now lol

Glad you came to my blog. There was another person who use to send me ideas on crochet and knitting, but I lost the website. I have so much yarn in bags that need work, but I just haven’t taken the time to finish the projects. It will take a lot more time. Anyhow, I hope you’ll come back and read more from my post. The little squares on your blog look a lot like pot holders. Take care now.
