This week started with me having grand plans of starting a new WIP. The yarn gods had other plans for me though!
Two days later, I had unravelled every knot and was able to begin my planned project. This rainbow cotton yarn has been in my stash for almost two years and I finally found a use for it-a dreamcatcher for my daughter’s new bedroom!
One problem here-it was too big for my hoop (which I salvaged from the bottom of a lightshade that was being removed as part of the extension!) Only one thing to do and that was to modify the pattern! Here is my progress so far:
I replaced the chain 5s with chain 3s, the 7s with 5s and so on. I’m not sure of the impact it’ll have on the rest of the pattern, we will have to wait and see. (The pattern is by The Loopy Stitch and is free!)
I have also been working on my socks, all pattern repeats for the legs are done and I have worked part of the heel flap on one and all of the other. When I checked the pattern I had missed some leg rounds but the legs seem long enough so I’m not too worried.
Here’s a sneaky peek of our massive WIP-it will be the bathroom when the extension is finished. The smily face the builder added to the window is a super finishing touch!
That’s all for this week. It’s been reasonably productive even with a long time spent sorting out knots.
What are you working on this week? How’s it going? Feel free to add a link or tag me on Instagram.
