Even though it’s still September, it’s getting festive here, and this week’s crafts have mainly revolved around Christmas (or sparkles!) I’m in the middle of completing orders for snowmen baubles, there are only a couple more to make now. They do look like a jolly little crew; it’ll almost be sad to separate them when…… Continue reading WIP Wednesday-27th September
Autumn is definitely setting in here (the weather has felt distinctly unsummery since the end of July!) and we’ve been making the most of the changing seasons. A few trees are dropping their leaves, the mornings are chilly and misty and we are starting to need to dig out coats for the school run. It’s…… Continue reading Spiders, Sparkles and Spinning
My needles have been on fire this week and I’ve managed to complete the Lush cardigan I started last Sunday. Today I sewed in the last of the ends and washed and blocked it. I haven’t got a photo of the completed cardigan as the recipient hasn’t seen it yet. Here’s one of the buttons…… Continue reading WIP Wednesday-6th September
This time last week, I was not entirely sure that this post would ever happen. The sleeves of this cardigan caused me a mammoth headache, including me messing them up and having to frog the whole back of the cardigan to above where the sleeves began. To take my mind off the mess I’d made,…… Continue reading FO Friday-28th July
This week has seen a bit of a knitting marathon to get the Lush cardigan finshed, as I’m considering entering it into our village show at the weekend. Last night I managed to complete it, but I’ll do a separate post on Friday as it was such a marathon learning curve. I’ll leave you with…… Continue reading WIP Wednesday-26th July
This card was made using my DIY embossing plate and a hand drawn Lego man (the kids Lego box came in handy!) I just used the blocks to make a number 5 (Dave thought it was an ‘S’ but never mind!) and attached the head using 3D foam tape. I didn’t use any other embellishments…… Continue reading Lego and Shopkins Birthday Cards
The end of this little cardigan’s journey to being created.
You know what it’s like-you need to replace something and you spend a bit more than intended. My old trimmer was 12 years old and a little ropey. It has done it’s fair share of work, both for my craft projects and school resources (which I originally bought it for!) I had a look online…… Continue reading A New Toy!
Tonight I got out the cardmaking things and ended up knee deep in pretty things as I experimented with colours and patterns for a birthday card for my baby. It was one of those projects where you think ‘all I’ll need is the Cricut machine, card and adhesives.’ Several trips to the craft cupboard later…… Continue reading Cardmaking Heaven!
Whilst tidying and sorting I found these. I made them almost a year ago, but it feels like yesterday. They were one of my first crochet garments and taught me a few important lessons about gauge and actually reading patterns. I must have made the sole of the first boot around 5 times before it…… Continue reading Bootiful!
